At Quilters, we strive to engender a sense of family and togetherness. The Cape Song brings us all closer together in our love of Growth Mindset and of each other!
At Quilters, every pupil undertakes the Quilters Quest; they all take part in 48 carefully chosen challenges across their four years in the juniors. From visiting care homes to raising money for charities to appearing on Quilters TV, pupils grow in confidence and self-belief. This in turn builds character! All children are equal in the Quest; all pupils will succeed and when they do they are awarded the fabled Quilters Diamond – the outward sign that they are a true Quiltonian!
At Quilters, we do GOAL time so that children can use their Orange Cape of Independence, Green Cape of Concentration, Rainbow Cape of Creativity and Gold Cape of Quality. By choosing their own activities and learning through play, our youngest Quilteenees discover the joy of thinking, exploring and becoming the very best learners they can be.
At Quilters, we run 'The Always Club' weekly, so that children who 'always' show our Capes and Values are celebrated. It teaches everyone that kindness, perseverance, teamwork and quality matter and that striving to be your best self is always noticed! Play time with Mr Holmes and Mrs Chappell is enormous fun!
At Quilters, we serve the community at the Human Kind Café lunch service. Here, our children develop empathy, teamwork and take immense pride in helping others. By connecting with the elderly in our community, pupils learn to look outwards, value service and understand the difference they can make in people’s lives. At the Human Kind Cafe, our pupils are the waiters and waitresses to the elderly guests; then they enjoy dinner with them!
At Quilters we do Forest School so that children can use their Blue Cape of Bravery, Red Cape of Teamwork, Purple Cape of Perseverance and Rainbow Cape of Creativity. This helps them grow in confidence, take risks safely and learn how to work together in the great outdoors.
Some of our pupils from Year Six have put together a dance competition called Q-Dance. Last term. They auditioned performers from all year groups and had the very difficult task of choosing the finalists. The finalists had to qualify through two round of tough auditions to make the Grand Final. Well done to them all! Please vote for your favourite contestant! Voting ends at 4pm on Monday 6th May 2024. All junior parents/carers will have been emailed the link.
